Solar Powered Windsock

Solar Lighted Windsocks

This self contained solar powered windsock comes complete and ready to install. It is a great solution for a lighted windsock application at remote locations or where electrical power is not practical to supply. The high output solar panels supply and maintain power to the AGM deep cycle battery. This power is stored until dusk and when the photo electric eye triggers the power to the solid state controller, the internally lighted windsock is lit up. Our internally lighted windsock uses a high output, low power consuming reflective bulb. The reflective bulb shines directly into the opening of the windsock for maximum visibility. At dawn the photo electric eye turns the power off and the cycle starts over again. The specially designed frame utilizes a slip ring commutator configuration that allows the frame to swivels 360 degrees without any twisted wires.

Why Solar?

  • No buried wires. With the cost of copper wire today, the expense of buried wire can be tremendous.

  • No trenches to dig. Many windsocks require locations far from utilities. They may require trenching across paved roadways or other obstacles that prohibit trenching

  • Reliable and Low maintenance

  • Totally self contained, no external components required such as chargers, cables or controllers giving it total independence during a power failure.

  • Great for remote locations
